About Anki Cozmo and Vector
Robot toy like Anki Cozmo and Vector are very popular nowadays from children to adults because unlike the older robots we used to play when we are little, these guys are coming with so many capabilities to entertain the family and those who love technologies. These two are brothers and are made by the same company, Anki. The Cozmo is already available since about two years ago and the newer addition Vector is launched just recently but already gaining so much popularity.

Both of them are smart robot toys which we can ask to do many tricks and interact due to the technology planted inside. They are come in pair with the app to help users gets to know their new little friend better and in these app, we can command and learn how to play with them. Both of them may similar but as an item that has been in the market for quite the time, Cozmo can beat Vector in some sides while Vector is also carrying capabilities not present in Cozmo.

Anki Cozmo and Vector Design
Because of Cozmo is released earlier, this little robot is also more affordable now than the new addition and looking at them from the design alone, we can see that they are identical with each other. They are very small and can be placed in adults palm without fully covering the surface while the design itself is very cute in our opinion. The older Cozmo robot is white with some red accent on some of its parts while Vector is black with a gold accent.

From the color option, somehow we get a feeling that the Cozmo is meant for younger player or children with the mellower color while Vector is more into adult user with the elegant color combination. Cozmo eyes when lit up will be blue while the other is green and there is another thing that we should mention here which is their cubes because unlike Cozmo that came with 3 small cubes, Vector only have one, so we can’t expect him to play stack with only one cube.

Anki Cozmo and Vector Features
Moving into each of their app, here we can see the capabilities of these robots. First is Cozmo , the app for the robot is very bright or colorful and actually pleasant to see and navigate through. When you pick “Play” and then “Tricks” we can see how many tricks this robot can do and it is understandable since he is already being in the market for 2 years, making the app richer with tricks and games to play, moreover, if you go the Code Lab page.

The robot is equipped with a camera which we can access in the “Explore Mode” and make it like a surveillance camera because we can navigate the robot like a remote control. Overall, this robot is rich in features especially on the game and tricks so users can always find a new entertainment with Cozmo and making it clearer that this model is better suit younger users. Now, let’s move to Vector and see what this one can do. When you open his app, we can see that unlike Cozmo with a colorful color scheme, this robot is coming with a simple, black, green and grey color scheme and it is in portrait. The app is very simple and provide all the information or stats about your little friend but with very minimum amount of entertainment since when you open the “Entertainment” part, the amount of game and tricks here is fewer than what we can get on the other robot.

The prominent difference is we don’t need to command the robot from the app because it can interacts with you. However, since it only has one cube, the tricks it can do with it is also very little and at the moment, Vector can only find his cube, roll his cube and do a wheel stand. This is very little compared to Cozmo but we have a high hope and it is possible that Anki will provide another tricks or offer additional cubes for the robot in the future.

Just lie Cozmo, Vector has a camera an on “Utilities”, we can ask him to take a picture which then will be sent to the app, so we can see it and have an option to save it in our device. What we love the most from Vector is he is independent and similar to home assistant like Alexa because he can answer many question by accessing the internet, so we can ask him about the time, the weather and will answer you when you command him to come.

All of them are done by voice which is very impressive. Additionally, he can move around by himself or exploring the surface and he is smart, so when there is a cliff, he will back up and try not to fall, similar like your robotic vacuum cleaner.

Now, let’s compare Anki Cozmo with Vector. As you may already know, both of them are seem to be made for different market because with the huge collection of game and tricks, Cozmo is more suitable for children while the serious looking Vector is more independent and don’t rely on the app to runs but with less tricks and games on his sleeve.
